LEGO® Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite 41498 was created exclusively for New York Comic Con 2017 and was never released through the normal LEGO® retail range. Convention attendees had to win a pre-event lottery simply to earn the opportunity to purchase one.
Only 5,000 individually numbered sets were produced, giving 41498 genuine limited-edition status rather than simply becoming scarce because production eventually ended.
The 329-piece set recreates one of the most unforgettable images from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back™: Boba Fett alongside Han Solo frozen in carbonite.
Boba Fett appears in detailed BrickHeadz™ form with his distinctive Mandalorian armour, helmet and weaponry, while Han Solo is represented inside his instantly recognisable carbonite block. Both models have dedicated display stands featuring special LEGO® Star Wars™ and New York Comic Con branding.
They also hold an important place in early BrickHeadz™ history: Boba Fett is BrickHeadz No. 27 and Han Solo in Carbonite is No. 28.
What makes this particular example even more special is the autograph of LEGO® designer Marcos Bessa, the designer behind the set. Signed examples add another layer of provenance to an already extremely limited convention release.
