LEGO® Firework Celebrations 40689 turns that feeling into a colourful 184-piece celebration scene, complete with a night-sky backdrop, exploding fireworks and two LEGO® characters watching the display together.

The model is more than a static decoration. The colourful fireworks can rotate, while a rocket launches from the ground, bringing a little movement and playfulness to the finished scene.

The set includes 2 minifigures — an adult and a child — enjoying the show with a camera and sparkler. Brickset records both minifigure designs as appearing only in this set, adding a nice little collector detail to an otherwise cheerful display model.

There is also an included sticker sheet, allowing some of the display details to be customised and giving the finished scene a little more personality.

At approximately 14 cm high, 16 cm wide and 7 cm deep, the completed model is compact enough for a desk or shelf while still creating an instantly recognisable miniature fireworks display.

40689 also has an interesting promotional history. Firework Celebrations was originally offered by LEGO® as a Gift with Purchase during the summer of 2024, available for a limited period while stocks lasted, and returned for another short GWP promotion at the end of December 2024.

That background gives the set a little more character than an ordinary small LEGO® build — but its biggest appeal is simply how easy it is to gift.

For a birthday, New Year celebration, graduation, anniversary or other special occasion, this is essentially a little LEGO® version of saying: this deserves fireworks.
