The set recreates the legendary Nintendo Entertainment System console in remarkable detail, complete with an opening cartridge slot and realistic locking mechanism. Build the included Game Pak cartridge, slide it into the console and connect the life-size brick-built controller with its cable and plug — just like setting up the real machine.

But the real showstopper is the accompanying 1980s-style television.

Turn the handle on the side and the screen actually scrolls, sending a brick-built 8-bit Mario through a classic Super Mario Bros.™ level filled with familiar obstacles, enemies and scenery. It is a wonderfully mechanical effect that makes the finished model feel much more alive than an ordinary static display piece.

Fans with a compatible interactive LEGO® Mario™ figure can even place him on top of the TV to trigger reactions to the enemies, obstacles and power-ups moving across the screen. Interactive LEGO® Mario™ figure is sold separately.

The buildable TV alone measures approximately 22.5 cm high, 23.5 cm wide and 16 cm deep, creating an impressive display alongside the NES console and controller.
