Travel back to the early years of LEGO® Star Wars™ with Final Duel II 7201, a small but wonderfully nostalgic set based on Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi™.
Released in 2002, the set captures the moment when Luke Skywalker is under Imperial guard, on his way towards the confrontation that will ultimately bring him face to face with Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.
Despite its compact size, the character selection is the real attraction.
The set includes 3 classic LEGO® Star Wars™ minifigures: Luke Skywalker, an Imperial Officer and an Imperial Stormtrooper. All three come from the era when LEGO® Star Wars™ characters still used the unmistakable traditional yellow minifigure heads.
Collectors get an additional reason to pay attention: the Luke Skywalker variant sw0068 and Imperial Officer sw0046 each appear in only this set, making Final Duel II much more interesting than its small piece count might suggest.
The build itself creates a compact Imperial walkway scene with railings, giving the three characters a small environment in which to recreate Luke’s capture and journey towards the final confrontation.
7201 was also designed as a companion to LEGO® Final Duel I 7200, allowing the two little 2002 sets to form a larger Return of the Jedi™ finale display.
But what makes this particular example especially appealing today is its preservation.
This set is new, and the original box remains in very good condition despite dating back to 2002. For vintage LEGO® Star Wars™ collectors, the packaging is part of the appeal — especially with an early set that has now survived for more than two decades.
