A limited-series Ferrari V12 turned into LEGO® Speed Champions — the spectacular 812 Competizione in classic Ferrari red, now retired.
Some Ferraris are designed to be elegant grand tourers. The 812 Competizione takes that idea and turns the aggression all the way up.
Based on Ferrari’s limited-series V12 sports car, LEGO® Ferrari 812 Competizione 76914 recreates the dramatic machine as a detailed 261-piece Speed Champions model for building, racing and display.
The real 812 Competizione is powered by a naturally aspirated V12 producing 830 cv and revving to 9,500 rpm, giving it a very special place among modern Ferrari performance cars.
LEGO® captures many of the features that make the car immediately recognisable, including its yellow stripe running across the body, black blade on the bonnet, raised rear wing, prominent vortex generators, distinctive headlights and taillights, and detailed exhaust pipes.
The set also includes a Ferrari driver minifigure with helmet and hair piece, ready to take the car onto the road or racing circuit.
At approximately 16 cm long, 7 cm wide and 4 cm high, the finished model is compact enough for a desk or display shelf while still capturing the low, wide proportions of the real car.
There is also a nice LEGO® milestone here: when the set was released, LEGO described it as the first opportunity for fans to collect, build and display the Ferrari 812 Competizione in LEGO® Speed Champions form.
For a Ferrari enthusiast, this makes a particularly easy gift choice. The bright red body, yellow stripe and Prancing Horse identity need almost no explanation — and the 812 Competizione itself is considerably more exotic than an ordinary production Ferrari.
