A little pirate ship, a handful of LEGO® coins and an old-fashioned fairground ride — originally released as a special LEGO® VIP Reward rather than a regular retail set.
Step into a miniature LEGO® amusement arcade with Pirate Adventure Ride 6432430, a wonderfully unusual 168-piece promotional set inspired by the classic coin-operated rides found at fairs, shopping centres and amusement parks.
At the centre is a colourful pirate ship ride that actually rocks. Turn the crank at the back of the base and the ship moves back and forth, recreating the motion of a real children’s mechanical fairground ride.
The set includes 1 child minifigure with short movable legs, ready to climb aboard for a miniature pirate adventure. The character can be customised with different hair pieces or a pirate captain’s hat, adding a little extra personality to the scene.
There are also some wonderfully playful details around the ride, including a golden chicken, pirate flag, printed LEGO® logo tile and six printed “5” coins — perfect for pretending to feed another coin into the machine and go for one more ride.
But what makes 6432430 particularly interesting today is how it was originally distributed.
This European version was a LEGO® VIP Reward, available through the LEGO VIP Rewards Centre from 25 November 2022 for 2,400 VIP points. It was therefore not released as an ordinary mainstream boxed set sitting on regular toy-store shelves.
That original reward opportunity has long since ended, making a new, unopened example a fun little collectible from the former LEGO® VIP era — now known as LEGO® Insiders.
It is also an unusually charming gift for someone who loves LEGO® Pirates, vintage fairground rides or unusual promotional LEGO releases. Rather than another conventional pirate ship, this is a tiny piece of LEGO amusement-park nostalgia with a working mechanical feature.
